How to Join WHALE DAO

WHALE is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governed by the holders of the $WHALE token. These tokens represent both membership AND governance rights: each 1 $WHALE = 1 vote on proposals through Snapshot.

Joining WHALE

Your first step is to join the community on Discord at discord.gg/WHALE.
Many channels are open to all visitors, you can attend public events, ask questions, and learn about how the DAO operates before becoming a verified token holder.

When you’re ready to participate fully, set up a compatible Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask or Rabby, to hold your $WHALE tokens.

WHALE DAO distributes $WHALE tokens encouraging community behavior that aligns with its mission of "Creating Legacy through Communal Knowledge, Conversation and Consensus". Ask a moderator or verified community member in the Discord server about current ways to earn or receive tokens.

Once you hold enough $WHALE for a discord role of "Dolphin", "Shark", or "Whale", you must VERIFY your address and CLAIM membership level through the OCTO bot:

1. Visit octobot.world and connect your wallet.
2. In the Discord #🤖┥bot-command channel, type /tokenrole showroles to see available tiers (Dolphin, Shark, Whale).
3. Type /tokenrole claimrole and select your tier. The bot checks your on-chain balance and assigns your new role.

Holding tokens unlocks deeper layers of access: from viewing to voting; and eventually - perhaps if you choose - venturing forward your own ideas and proposals!

Becoming an Active Member

Once your wallet is verified and your role assigned, you’re officially part of WHALE; but joining is only the beginning!

1. Discussions and Live Events

The Discord server is WHALE’s main hub.
Engage in discussions, attend events, and join working groups.
Active members can earn POP rewards (Proof of Participation), which may unlock additional perks or recognition.

2. Explore the Vault

The Vault is WHALE DAO’s curated collection of digital art and cultural assets. Become familiar with our shared legacy!

3. Manage the Vault: Participate in Governance

Governance happens through Discord, where proposals are first presented and discussed, and Snapshot, where proposals are officially voted on.

“Whale" level role holders only create and submit new proposals that may shape funding, partnerships, or Vault acquisitions, and more. Dolphin and Shark level role-holders may participate in all proposal discussions. Note: Whale role-holders are encouraged to thoroughly discuss their intended proposals with the community before crystallizing their ideas by creating a 'pre-proposal' directly within discord at #🗳️┥pre-proposals (a DAO-role is required to view this channel) and engaging the community.

Your $WHALE balance determines your voting power!

4. Stay Secure and Vigilant

Only use verified links from official WHALE sources.
Never share private keys or seed phrases. Moderators will never ask for them!
